What we did
Beyond won the tender for this project to provide the Employees Agent for the scheme. We were procured RIBA stage 3 and worked with the client, contractor and design team to bring the tended price to within the planned budget. It was clear during the detailed design phase that the building condition was worse than the original surveys had portrayed.
To ensure the scheme could go ahead Beyond worked with the client and contractor to agree an arrangement which allowed risk to managed in a fair manner. During construction we were able to use our building knowledge to work with the contractor and design team to find a suitable value engineering solutions which enabled the budget to be maintained along with the required high-end aesthetic in line with the clients’ requirements.
As with all refurb projects there were several unknowns which occurred during the scheme duration which included the discovery of an additional basement and large amounts of asbestos, all of which were be able to managed within the original budget through value engineering.
Beyond provided regular scheme progress and monthly cost reports which were presented to the client to fully inform them of the scheme’s position against the planned budget. Beyond continue to work with Bassetlaw due to this success of this project.
